Review by JimiDiscs Septem(13 of 17 found this review helpful) But in my opinion the expense for this disc is really worth it. I guess we have to shell out a lot for quality sacd these days. Actually this is my 2nd shm-sacd (Aja being the 1st). This is quite an expensive disc compared to others just released and not yet out-of-print. Maybe I can qualify this IMO as another demonstration quality sacd. The rest of the other cuts were just as impressive: they all sounded quite good. Check out the sound of the Dobro: vibrant and resonating! Mark Knofler's voice is smoother yet fuller. The details were near perfect: brilliant and sparkling guitar work without being bright. My very favorite Sultans Of Swing never sounded as good as this version's (I also have this cut in the HDCD encoded The Very Best of Dire Straits). Much, much better!įrom the opening song Down To The Waterline, I was impressed with the very quiet background, crisp and smooth highs and big, deep bass.
But this sure sounds different from the shm-cd version of the same album that I have. The packaging is similar to other shm-sacd earlier issued. Thought it was some of her lesser lyrics, but thanks.īut I guess there's a truth to them- I still want to do those things with Trif.My copy was delivered to my office in Manila very late in the afternoon yesterday by EMS Int'l after the plane carrying it arrived from Tokyo in the morning.
Someone to eat ice cream with, and watch television That wouldve been the better of the two for sureĪnd I would like to be your boyfriend Egarran if that is ok with you! I've said it before and I'll say it again Woah this ranking is correct and I've only heard the top 4 I don't know why, but I really enjoy On Every Street. ~Sometimes you're the windscreen, sometimes you're the bug~Īlso the fadeout on Brothers In Arms hurts me every time. I love Brothers in Arms, but never really made it through their other albumsīut if u put all their best songs on one LP it would prob be like a 3.7-3.8
sultans of swing is the only by them i really like Park I didn’t know you were such an ardent supporter of the homosexual agendaīrothers in Arms is a pretty great album, should probably check the others out sometime Oh yeah forgot this band is like worshipped by ppl, maybe i should chek Some people get a cheap laugh breakin up the speed limit This is one of those bands from my early "classic rock phase" that still really holds up for me Band slays for daysįor most of my life ive liked them a lot more than i do nowadaysįair enough. still some weak tracks tho, prob like a 3.2 for me tbhġ, 5, 3, 2, 4, 6 is probably my ranking. six blade knife, in the gallery also great. T/t is goated and easily the best most genuine feeling "emotional" song theyve done, ride across the river is great too. if you like roger waters' solo albums u'll prob like it. lady writer is ok actuallyĪmbitious certainly but hardly a hidden prog gem like some fans want you to believe. Opener and closer are top 10 straits tracks easily and without doubt, everything else is a bit gash. It's alright, prob worth a listen but hardly anything too interesting, on the neutral to positive side of average for rock of its time Anemic, lifeless, on the wrong end of average
